That is ok, but the hands should always be behind the back. Anytime the hands are not securely locked behind the back and locked to a waist belt you are only wearing handcuffs as jewelry. You are not truly handcuffed until you want to be free and you realize there is no way you can free yourself. The only way you will be released is for some one else to unlock your restraints and you have no control as to when that will happen.
